Queen – News of the World in Concert: Live in Houston, 1977

What really caught my eye about this record was the cover - love it!

However, taking into account that this is a live album following their News Of The World release, all the key songs that you would hope to find on here are omitted - songs like Spread Your Wings, It's Late, and Meloncholy Blues are all absent.

Whilst I appreciate that you can only fit so much onto a 12" vinyl LP, the omission of these tracks is an oversight by Coda Records. The track listing on this particular album is nothing out of the ordinary from many of Queen's other live albums. An opportunity missed.

Excellent recording of Steve Miller Band in 1976

Some good tracks here , excellent recordings from 1976. Highly recommended if you like Steve Miller band from the mid-70’s era.

Not the greatest recording…

I’ve bought a few Coda Records releases in the past month and I’m a little disappointed as the quality varies quite considerably.

The Kate Bush album (Oh England) is stunning, but Genesis For Rhyme and Reason is not good. The first track on side one is fine, but then the recording quality sounds like a bootlegger attempted to record the next two tracks using a tape recorder in his jacket pocket.

Squonk and Entangled (the dodgy tracks from above) are repeated on Genesis A Trick of the Tail… and they are equally dodgy on that LP too, so it must be the source recording that’s at fault.

Maybe I expected too much from concert recordings of unknown origin from 50 years ago…

I really like the range of albums on this site there is some unusual items. SRV album great, arrived in good time and packaging was great. But! I have had no end of problems trying to log into my account and the app. I have found it impossible to make another purchase, so I gave up! For some reason even with the right password I can’t get into my account. Very annoying
