The year 1989 was quite the ride for the Stone Roses. They released their eponymous debut album on 2 May. The album was a breakthrough success for the band, receiving widespread critical acclaim. Soon after, the Stone Roses were the hottest band in the world, touring the album that nailed the Madchester zeitgeist head on.
