The Highwaymen – Aberdeen FM 1992 (12-Inch Album on 180g Vinyl)

This album showcases the Highwaymen’s stunning concert at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, on 13 April 1992.

The Highwaymen were a country music supergroup consisting of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson.

Here, things kick off with a cover of Highwayman, a song penned by Jimmy Webb, one of America’s most successful and honoured songwriter/composers.

Folsom Prison Blues is timeless to this day, and Johnny Cash sings it with true authority. Other Cash classics featured include Big River and Get Rhythm.

Kris Kristofferson’s songs include Help Me Make It Through the Night, Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I’ll Ever Do Again) and Me and Bobby McGee.

Waylon Jennings performs two of his most well-known songs – Good Hearted Woman and the theme from The Dukes of Hazzard.

However, Willie Nelson arguably steals the show. His renditions of You Were Always on My Mind, Crazy and Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground were spine-tingling.

The show ends with the unforgettable, Nelson-penned, On the Road Again.
