This album documents Queen’s historic headline performance at the inaugural Rock in Rio festival, on 12 January 1985.

The festival was held from 11–20 January 1985 at Rio’s Cidade do Rock. Queen headlined the opening night on Friday 11 January (technically 12 January), and returned to the stage a week later, headlining on 18 January (technically 19 January). The audience for both nights exceeded 250,000 people.
