Pink Floyd – The Sound of Philadelphia (Limited Edition Double-LP on Clear Vinyl)

This double album showcases Pink Floyd’s stellar concert at the Spectrum Theater, in Philadelphia, on 15 March 1973, during the Dark Side of the Moon Tour.

Here, the band perform The Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety. Side Four features an extraordinary encore rendition of the prog masterpiece Echoes, spanning over twenty-four minutes.

The Dark Side of the Moon Tour began on 20 January 1972 at the Brighton Dome, and concluded almost two years later at London’s Rainbow Theatre, on 4 November 1973. Covering the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe and Japan, there were two separate legs promoting the album, one in 1972 before the record’s release and another in 1973, together covering 128 shows.

Pink Floyd first took the tour to the United States on 4 April 1972, and stayed there for a month. They went back for another jaunt in September 1972, when they also performed two shows in Canada. By March 1973, the band were back in the United States, and on 15th of the month, played at Philadelphia’s Spectrum Theater, where they produced on one of the entire tour’s finest performances.
