In support of his fourth studio album, Had to Cry Today, Joe Bonamassa undertook a mini-European tour during 2005, playing a single date in the UK, four in the Netherlands and five shows in Germany. Of the entire jaunt, the finest gig performed took place in Rheinberg, on 1 May.
Characterised by lengthy, improvised performances, this set features blistering covers of blues-rock classics such as ZZ Top’s Jesus Just Left Chicago, Jethro Tull’s A New Day Yesterday, the Jeff Beck Group’s Blues Deluxe, B.B. King’s You Upset Me Baby, John Lee Hooker’s Burning Hell, Jimi Hendrix’s Spanish Castle Magic and more.
