A veritable institution of British folk, Fairport Convention has been going strong since the mid-1960s. This double album showcases the band’s stunning concert at Rock City, in Nottingham, on 26 January 1987.

Featured here are incredible adaptations of John Barleycorn and Reynard the Fox, several cuts from the then recently released Expletive Delighted! album, including Three Left Feet, Sí Bheag, Sí Mhór, Portmeirion and Sack the Juggler, alongside fan favourites such as Meet On the Ledge, and more.

There is a beautiful symmetry between Dave Pegg’s mandolin and Martin Allcock’s bouzouki; Ric Sanders raises the roof on electric violin, Dave Mattacks’ drums are quietly steady and Simon Nicol’s guitar and voice completes the picture.

This is a must for all Fairport fans!

A true treasure

Fairport Convention live in Nottingham.
This is the first record 1 have ever purchased from Coda . Anybody who was following Fairport in the years just after their reformation after the Album Gladys' Leap will remember a grand band of very talented musicians at the peak of their power, doing what they do best, entertaining without taking themselves over seriously. This a a great document of that time beautifully recorded and pressed. It arrived in great time and in perfect condition. It is a joy to own Thank you Coda
