David Bowie – Santa Monica 1972 (12-Inch Album on 180g Vinyl)

This album showcases David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars’ legendary concert at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, on 20 October 1972, during the Ziggy Stardust Tour.

Capturing Bowie in the first flush of stardom, and broadcast live by KMET-FM, the show came midway through the first leg of the band’s North American tour, following an extensive itinerary of concerts in Britain.

Here, the lineup of Bowie (vocals, guitar), Mick Ronson (guitar, vocals), Trevor Bolder (bass), Mick Woodmansey (drums) and Mike Garson (piano/keyboards) perform classics such as Life On Mars?, Changes, Rock ’n’ Roll Suicide, Ziggy Stardust and Space Oddity, alongside a superb cover of the Velvet Underground’s I’m Waiting for the Man, and more.
