This album presents Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s legendary concert at the Winterland Arena, in San Francisco, on 4 October 1973 – the supergroup’s first time onstage together since 1970.
That night Stephen Stills’ band Manassas played a show at Winterland. During the intermission, David Crosby and Graham Nash came out to join Stills for an acoustic set. Then, halfway through that pivotal performance, Neil Young joined them as well. The musical chemistry between the band had always been undeniable, but many believed they’d never see the four on the same stage again, so this was indeed a monumental moment.
The performance featured collaborative classics such as Helplessly Hoping, Wooden Ships and Long Time Gone, as well much-loved solo numbers, and a fantastic cover of the Beatles’ Blackbird.
