Genesis – The Reunion Rehearsal (12-Inch Double-LP)

This double album showcases the only rehearsal session prior to Genesis’ one-off, Six of the Best, reunion concert at the National Bowl, in Milton Keynes, on 2 October 1982.

Recorded at London’s Hammersmith Odeon, on 29 September 1982, this session illustrates the band resurrecting much-loved classic numbers for the reunion show. Several of these tracks, such as The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, In the Cage and the epic Supper’s Ready are already well rehearsed, yet other numbers require much more work.

This is a rare chance to get a behind the scenes glimpse of Genesis refining their iconic stage performance, with the band working through tweaks to their performance of many songs. Fascinatingly, the set also includes Peter Gabriel’s Solsbury Hill, and fans will relish the opportunity to hear Gabriel teach Genesis how to play and to work on their arrangement of one of his most famous solo works.

This unique release captures a special moment in the history of a visionary act, and makes captivating listening for all Genesis fans.
