Nirvana were the poster band for '' Generation X'' and introduced the world to 'grunge'. Grunge 'pushed out' 'glam rock' during the 1990s. In this sense, Nirvana were the 'Led Zeppelin' of the 1990's. They developed a sound that relied on dynamic contrasts, often between quiet verses and loud, heavy choruses. But their album insecticide is really for connoisseurs of Nirvana.

If you ask a room of Nirvana fans which album is best, you'll provoke serious debate but Insecticide would probably not be there. And that's the point, it's full of B sides, additional tracks, live recordings and music that is essentially less mainstream Nirvana. Cobain took over the project and used it to express his many grievances at becoming a pop star. Some people thought it was a way for Cobain to grab his original core audience back and ignore the mainstream.

The album received a mixed reception and 16 months later, they were gone. With the benefit of time, people started to value the album. '' Incesticide really did have some of the band's best songs. Post- Bleach A-side "Sliver" is a simple, straightforward pop tune unlike any others in Cobain's catalogue, featuring the most comprehensible and relatable lyrics he's ever penned. Its Butch Vig-produced B-side "Dive," on the other hand, is a dirty, pounding sludge-feast that best bridges the gap between basically all of their LPs.''

This album is for real music lovers, who live to understand an artist's evolution. If you are a collector it's an album which will very likely gain value by virtue of the fact that it's rarer and you need a good ear to appreciate it. We've got a handful, is one of them for you?!
