Amon Düül II – Lemmingmania (2018 Reissue Double-LP)

Legendary German rock band Amon Düül II is generally considered to be one of the pioneers of the krautrock scene. Their music has been described as ‘one of the cornerstones of […] the entire krautrock movement’.

Originally released in 1974, Lemmingmania is a compilation made up of unreleased singles (and B-sides) plus obscure album tracks. Lemmingmania is a collection of tight, well performed compositions, with a few slightly more complex pieces, and plenty of the distinctive style for which the band were renown. Vocalist Renate Knaup’s vocals are astounding, especially when guitarist Chris Karrer jumps in and shares the vocal duties with her.
